The long standing tradition still goes on...
Back in the 70s, the club members usually spent the day at the Puerto Seco Beach as this beach was the hip spot in those days on an Easter Day. But after a long spell, members decided that it was time for a change.
In 1998, another location was drafted and the new destination was "The Dunn’s River Falls".
Gladston "POP" Lawrence passed away on January 29th, 2007.
He is gone, but his name will live, and will be passed on to many generations to come.
It all started from Mr. Earle's wish.
"All the past directors have their names on the Houses, and the names will be passed on. So I want something, like an annual competition that carries POP's name, so his name will be passed on to many generations to come."
We contacted the family of "PAPA" Pavlovic, the most influential director in POP's club life, for the event's sponsorship.
The response was so quick, the answer was...
"Yes! We will be more than happy to sponsor the annual event!!"
Harrison House took the honour to be the first winner of the new annual event.
This event will be held in August every year.
Summer camp is one event that most of the club members look for.
It was commenced under the leadership of Charles Agate at Monpelier, Port Antonio, Duncaster, Kingston, and now has become an annual event.
This event is the newest of all the annual events. It started in 2004 with the concept for the club girl members of the club to improve their girl's structure awareness in both mentally and physically.
In 2005, crowning took place on December 17th and Miss MBBGC 2005 was crowned to Miss Allessandra Bernard. Miss Meisha Clarke was 1st runner up, and Miss Renece Smith as 2nd runner up.
